Four cryogenic oxygen tanks will soon be on their way to India from Singapore as part of the Adani Gorup’s efforts to secure critical medical supplies to fight the COVID-19 pandemic there

Country Head for Adani Singapore Jeyakumar Janakaraj said the four tanks secured from a local leading industrial gas supplier, WKS Group of Companies, would be airlifted from Changi Airport by the Indian Air Force today.

“It is wonderful that Singapore has been so willing to lend us a hand to secure these tanks, which will help Indian hospitals and clinics give life-saving care to their patients when it is so desperately needed,” he said.

“This is just one part of Adani Group’s efforts to use our business contacts to help secure supplies of oxygen and the tanks needed to transport it from different countries to meet the urgent health needs of the country.

‘’This is a health crisis and every small effort will help the people of India.”

Adani has been collaborating with other countries to import cryogenic tanks and liquid oxygen through its Port in Mundra, Gujarat and with the support of the Indian Air Force. As one of India’s largest business conglomerates, the Group has used its business connections to secure supplies from Saudi Arabia, Thailand and Dubai including:

  • Four cryogenic tanks with 80 tonnes of liquid oxygen and 5,000 medical-grade oxygen cylinders from Saudi Arabia.
  • Seven cryogenic tanks from Thailand.
  • 12 ready-to-use cryogenic tanks to transport liquid oxygen from Dubai.

In addition to supporting the urgent need of oxygen supplies, Adani Group has converted the Adani Vidya Mandir (a school set up by Adani Foundation) into a Covid Care Centre and called upon alumni members of the school to come forward for blood and plasma donation to aid Covid-19 patients in India.
